The Catholic University of Ghana, Fiapre has now received the Presidential Charter to operate fully as an autonomous University awarding its own diplomas and degrees.
The President of the Republic Nana Akufo Addo, through a Presidential assent granted the Charter at the Jubilee House for the CUCG to become a fully-fledged University, Catholic University of Ghana (CUG).
He revealed that as part of the new transitional arrangements for granting of a Charter, all existing universities collages had been given up to four years to demonstrate the capacity and readiness for a Charter by meeting the prescribed requirements.
The now Vice Chancellor of the Catholic University of Ghana, Fiapre, Prof. Dan Obeng-Ofori commended the President for the honour done the University by granting the Presidential Charter.
He indicated that it was a moment the University treasured so much and his management will do everything humanly possible to justify the confidence reposed in the Catholic University by the President.
He finally called for support for private Universities, especially through the GETFund and other avenues so as to be able to expand and offer quality education to prospective students coming from the free SHS policy.
